FOOD DISTRIBUTION
JUNIOR DEACONS PROJECT
The Red Cross food distribution started as the Junior Deacons' final community service before handing down the reins to the younger kids coming up in the church. While discussing ideas on what project would be next, after helping with Habitat for Humanity, the idea of a food distribution sounded like a good idea. When the idea was suggested to the Deacons, we were presented with only positive feedback and support.
With the backing of a very generous donation and a great group of volunteers, the Junior Deacons were able to help around 60 families from as far as Laingsburg, Perry, Owosso, Eaton Rapids, Morrice, Ashley, Elsie, Ithaca, Fenton, Bancroft, Corunna, and Durand. It was a wonderful feeling to be able to help so many people.
With the support of our church and Deacons, the day was a complete success. The help from the volunteers who donated their time and effort was greatly appreciated not only by the Junior Deacons but families across Michigan.
Your Junior Deacon Chairman,
Tyler Childs
